The Digital Poets Society is a rock band duo from the United States
whose sound is rooted in the intermix of art, music, and poetry
creating a unique blend of experimental, ambient and electronica
musical genres. The band was started in 2010 and is comprised of
members Freddy and Melissa who are also husband and wife. The band
evolved from the couples desire to create original soundscapes and
music for their fine art installations and related multimedia fine art
projects.
It's important to note that The Digital Poets Society's first album
release, Digital Dreamtime (2011), is designed like a hypertext-poem
with the arrangement of the tracks best experienced in a shuffled mode
or random playlist fashion. This allows each new shuffle of the tracks
to weave together a unique soundscape experience for the listener. So,
please press shuffle before you press play and we hope you "like" what
you hear.
Musical influences a include artists like Kraftwerk, Portishead, Joy
Division, Radiohead, Art of Noise, Peter Gabriel, Robert Fripp, Philip
Glass, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, and many more. We are the Digital
Poets Society. Give us a listen and discover our music today!
